Apply for LGBTQ+ addiction treatmentDoes Medicaid cover addiction treatment in Ohio?
Yes. B. Riley House accepts all major Medicaid insurers and works with extensive private insurance partnerships. Our team can verify your coverage for free, quickly, and confidentially. If you are not sure what your plan covers, that is okay—start with an application or a call.
What happens after I submit my application?
Someone from our intake team will follow up within 24 hours for a phone assessment. We will listen to what is bringing you in, talk through your goals and options, and help you understand the next step. You do not need to have every answer ready before you begin.
What is ASAM 3.5 residential treatment?
ASAM 3.5 is clinically managed, high-intensity residential drug treatment. At our Cleveland location, 45- and 60-day residential options are part of a full continuum that also includes PHP, IOP, mental-health support, psychotherapy, psychiatry, testing, and peer recovery meetings. Miami is sober living only and does not offer residential treatment, PHP, IOP, psychiatry, or testing.
Do you accept veterans?
Yes. Veterans are welcome to apply for treatment at B. Riley House. Tell us about your experience and benefits during intake so we can help you understand available options and coordinate the most appropriate next step.
Do you provide HIV/AIDS and STI/STD testing, PrEP, or Doxy-PEP?
Yes. Cleveland provides confidential onsite HIV/AIDS and STI/STD testing, along with PrEP for HIV prevention and Doxy-PEP to help prevent bacterial STIs. These conversations are part of whole-person care and are handled without judgment. Miami is sober living only and does not offer testing.
Are your services LGBTQ+-affirming?
Yes. B. Riley House was created for LGBTQ+ people and allies. Care makes room for identity, self-acceptance, coming out, transgender-specific concerns, sexual health, trauma, and the social realities that shape recovery. You should not have to leave who you are at the door to ask for help.

Our intake office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our Cleveland treatment location is at 2121 West 117th Street, Cleveland, OH 44111, and can be reached at (216) 417-4831. How much does sober living cost?
Miami sober living is $800 per month or $200 per week. Cleveland sober living is $500 per month. Insurance may help offset treatment costs, and the intake team can answer payment and planning questions—call (216) 417-4831.
Can family members or partners visit or participate?
Family and partners can be an important part of recovery. What participation looks like depends on the program, the person’s care plan, and privacy considerations. Ask the intake team or your care team about visit guidelines, family involvement, and the best way to support someone you love.
Do I need to be sober before applying?
No. You do not need to be sober or have everything figured out before you reach out. Applying starts a conversation about safety, your current needs, and which level of support may be appropriate. Be as honest as you can so the team can guide you well.
Is treatment confidential?
Your privacy matters to us. Coverage verification is confidential, and our team will explain what information is needed and how it is used. We will also talk through any consent needed before involving family, partners, or other supports in your care.
What if I do not have insurance?
Please still reach out. Our intake team can talk through your situation and explain available options before you make a decision. Ask about self-pay, sliding-fee, or other assistance options for the specific program and location you are considering; availability can depend on eligibility and program details.
What does the 90%+ retention statistic mean?
The 90%+ figure refers to the share of people who completed B. Riley House programming and remained connected to the program six months later. It is a description of past program retention, not a promise about an individual outcome. We share it alongside the reminder that each person’s recovery path is different.
